42 The Costume Designer Spring 2017 IN FOCUS BOLDFACE NAMES BFN - WORK CD Peggy Stamper is presently in Atlanta designing and shooting the feature The Last Full Measure, based on the heart-wrenching true-life story of William Pitsenbarger, a Vietnam War hero recognized posthu- mously with the Medal of Honor. Written and directed by Todd Rob- inson, the all-star cast includes Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Diane Ladd, Samuel L. Jackson, Peter Fonda, Ed Harris, and Alison Sudol. Many members of the Charlie Company who fought in the 1966 battle and worked for 34 years to ensure Pitsenbarger's heroism was recognized. They flew in from all over the country to work as extras when they filmed the Medal of Honor ceremony. National Geographic's The Long Road Home The Long Road Home crew: Working out of Fort Hood in Texas Working out of Fort Hood in Texas, CD Michael Boyd is designing The Long Road Home, a true story of heroism, courage, and sacrifice when a small platoon of the 1st Cavalry Division was surrounded by thousands of Iraqi insurgents in Sadr City, Iraq, in 2004. Directed by Phil Abraham and Boyd's old friend Mikael Salomon, the eight-hour limited series for National Geographic and FX focuses on the perilous incident and how the soldiers were finally rescued. Boyd felt honored to work on such an extraordinary and challenging story about our fight- ing men and women in Iraq.
