10 2015-16 Special Olympics Delaware Clockwise from Left: 1) In 2016, Bank of America reinforced their partnership with Special Olympics Delaware by sponsoring coaches' education to advance sports excellence. 2) Special Olympics Delaware is one of 7 charities to benefit from a new campaign called "Motivate the First State" - a program developed in collaboration with the Governor's Council on Health Promotion and Disease prevention as part of their ongoing strategic efforts to improve health in Delaware. 3) Members of the UD Tennis team gives SODE athletes one-on-one coaching at a sports clinic held on campus. 4) The UD Softball team helps to train SODE athletes in this annual spring training event to bring students and athletes together through sports. 5) In 2016, Melissa Chong of the Newark Dragons received the honor of being the first-ever recipient of the Delaware Women's Alliance for Sport and Fitness "Special Olympics Game Changer Award". 6) Special Olympics Relationship Experience, a one-credit course at the University of Delaware, was officially launched in 2015. This curriculum is one of the first of its kind in the country and is being explored as a model for other Special Olympics state programs as part of their SO College experience.
