Counterclockwise from left: A screen capture of the STARFLIGHT ONE, a hypersonic passenger airliner stranded beyond the atmosphere in outer space, as NASA sends a space shuttle to rescue the passengers and crew. Three drawings by Mr. Dane who was brought in as an Art Director by Production Designer David Snyder primarily to design the futuristic aircraft. Two photographs show the interior and exterior of Duncan's Toy Chest, an upscale New York toy store along the lines of FAO Schwartz. Mr. Dane was brought to Chicago to draw this and other sets for HOME ALONE 2: LOST IN NEW YORK (Sandy Veneziano, Production Designer). The exterior is a complex sign and dressing job on the historic Rookery Building in Chicago, designed by Burnham & Root in 1888. The hand drafting is, of course, by Mr. Dane and reflects the extraordinary precision he brought to every assignment.
