Tomlin in an early dramatic role in Moment by Moment (1981) co- starring John Travolta. the film adaptation of the same name. Tomlin's success in film was no less impressive. Her first movie, director Robert Altman's 1975 film Nashville, earned her Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and other award nominations. She went on to dozens of leading roles in a film catalog that includes The Incredible Shrinking Woman, 9 to 5, All of Me, I Heart Huckabees, Tea with Mussolini and Short Cuts. Most recently, Tomlin played the title character in Grandma, for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination. On television, Tomlin has also starred in six comedy specials, three of which earned four Emmys. Her memorable TV roles include Ms. Frizzle in the animated The Magic Schoolbus, the president's executive assistant on The West Wing (a role which earned her an individual 2003 SAG Award nomination) and her Emmy-nominated performance as the wife of a disgraced financier in Damages. Tomlin can be currently seen on the Netflix original series Grace and Frankie, where her work has earned her SAG Award, Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
