The nominees were announced Dec. 14. SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris, who was once seriously injured during a stunt, said she knows firsthand the risks that stunt performers take, and the value of experience and preparation in making those risks calculated ones. "I have so much respect for the professionals who help create the illusion of life-or-death situations while still protecting themselves and others on set from harm," Carteris said. "To be so committed to safety while delivering compelling performances speaks volumes of their talent, art and courage." SAGAFTRA.org | Special Issue 2017 | SAG-AFTRA 38
