This outreach is an important organizing tool to educate pre- members, content creators and producers about the benefits of SAG-AFTRA membership and working with SAG-AFTRA talent and staff. Thanks to Professor Ronnie Khalil for coordinating this event and for giving his students the opportunity to be the best that they can be! PLAYING IT SAFE S eattle Local members and area performers attended a panel discussion on stunt and on-set safety on Oct. 23, hosted by the SAG-AFTRA Seattle Conservatory. Moderated by Seattle Local President Rik Deskin, the panel featured Assistant Director Tony Bucerra (The Man in the High Castle), and member and stunt performer Peter Tiemann. Prompted by questions from members and the audience, the two related their respective roles in maintaining high safety standards and practices, both during pre-production and production, as well as offering important safety information for actors, crew and production staff. Much to their surprise, former President Bill Clinton joined them and the thousands of others as they all paraded the mile down Michigan Avenue. It was a great day in a state that has struggled with support for its unions and dedicated members. Union members show solidarity at the Labor Day parade in Michigan.
