Ms. Arce-Duval holds a BA in audiovisual communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and possesses a strong passion for visual storytelling. She has worked as a Production Designer on several film productions in Peru, Mexico and the United States, including SHARE by director Pippa Bianco and BEHIND THE MIRRORS and A DOCTOR'S JOB, the latter two both directed by Julio O. Ramos. Right: DANIEL FRANK (2015) scratch modeled these pieces for THE SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON in SketchUp and rendered them in Podium. Born and raised in New York, Mr. Frank attended Colgate University, where he studied under a prominent Broadway set designer and earned a degree in art history and architecture. Although he continued to do design work when he could, it wasn't until his acceptance into the AFI Production Design program that he decided to pursue his passion full time. Left: Second-year Fellow MARI LAPPALAINEN (2015) was born and raised in Finland where she graduated as an exhibition builder in 2007. After three years of working, traveling and living in New York and London, Ms. Lappalainen enrolled in a set design for screen course at the acclaimed Wimbledon College of Art in London. During her studies, she was involved in various projects ranging from stop- motion animation to large-scale feature films. This establishing shot of Morocco for LET THE RIGHT ONE IN was painted, textured and lit in Photoshop after her hand-drawn outline sketch was scanned and imported.
