september 2015  /  the tasting panel  /  91 Tucked in the northernmost corner of the west side of Manhattan sits La Marina, a picturesque Hudson River waterfront res- taurant that tempts its customers to escape into the warm hug of a mini staycation. Customers' beverage of choice? CÎROC Pineapple, of course. An historical setting on Dyckman Marina sets the backdrop for guests to rest their feet in the sand while catching the sunset, order beverages from three separate bars or for small groups to secure private tables in the restaurant's lounge. "CÎROC Pineapple is very comple- mentary of the restaurant's setting," says Zachary Sharaga, Beverage Manager at La Marina. "La Marina is almost like going on vacation. You're outside the city hustle and bustle, you're on the river, it's serene. It's a beautiful place to be in Manhattan." The spirit's tropical flavors naturally invoke a feeling of relaxation and celebration, which the restaurant recognized when it hosted a well-attended launch party for the brand last summer. "Feedback is great," Sharaga says. "People know it and ask for it pretty frequently. CÎROC has a different texture and is a standalone brand because of the ingredients they use. It's a good product and not hard to make it pop." La Piña ◗ 1½ oz.
