WEA President Kathy Vetter spoke at a recent Student WEA (SWEA) meeting about her thirty+-year
career in teaching. She was joined by past SWEA leaders/current WEA members Kendall Workman and
Kami Cooley, who talked about their
experiences as first-year teachers.
A Wyoming Retirement System town hall meeting was
held in Evanston, Wyoming, on May 12th. It was jointly
sponsored by the Wyoming Retirement System, Wyoming
Public Employees Association, Wyoming Education
Association, and the Equality State Policy Center. WRS
Director Ruth Ryerson gave a presentation regarding
the health the WRS, and some of the WRS staff was on
hand to answer questions as well. There were about 85
attendees, which included Senators Barnard and Hastert;
Representatives Freeman, Baldwin, and Piiparinen; state
employees; law enforcement; firefighters; and WEA
members. Attendees seemed pleased with the information
shared and the ability to interact with the presenters.
