december 2009 / the tasting panel /  63 light Tasting Notes I recently tasted through the current releases from peregrine and Mo- hua. here are two of my favorites. —Anthony Dias Blue Peregrine Wines 2007 Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand ($32) Juicy and pure with bright red cherry and lovely ter- roir; this is a stunning wine that should put the Burgundians on notice that there's a new sheriff in town; long, el- egant and absolutely charming. 93 points Mohua 2007 Ries- ling, Central Otago, New Zealand ($15) Bright and peachy with a touch of sweetness balanced by searing acidity; juicy and bracing with great style and purity. 90 points bird; Peregrine Wines has become heavily involved in bird welfare and donates to bird conservation pro- grams in nearby Fjordland. With a solid line-up of wines that offer what Hay notes as "exceptional value for the money" and backed by the irresistible New Zealand mystique, Peregrine is poised to soar. Peregrine and Mohua are imported by Vineyard Brands. Peregrine Wines soar in Central Otago by David Gadd
