The Allegheny Conference facilitated the development of the program in partnership with the Pennsylvania College of Technology and Westmoreland County Community College. In 2012, the U.S. Department of Labor announced a $14.9 million grant to expand ShaleNET to five states. The award affirmed Pennsylvania's leadership in energy workforce development. $19.924 Million U.S. Department of Labor grant funds awarded to support ShaleNET 3,677 People put to work 43,654 Unique visitors to ShaleNet.org 11
