Movers & Shakers How to Catch a Recruiter's Eye One of the best ways to find out about new job opportunities (without having to do the searching) is to go through a recruiter. Recruiters identify candidates that are qualified for positions, but also target those who stand out among the rest. Here are a few key tips to make sure your name rises to the top of their search: Promote Your LinkedIn Profile. Recruiters use LinkedIn almost every day to find new candidates, so make sure that all of your information is updated and accurate. It's easy to be overlooked if you don't outline your job responsibilities and include the key words that show up in recruiter searches. Connect with all your friends and colleagues, as that exponentially expands your reach! Utilize Social Media Wisely. Keep your publicly visible social media networks professional. Recruiters can find and read your Facebook, Twitter, etc., so change your settings or manage your content wisely. Also, make sure you have a profes- sional photo and keep those party photos to yourself! Stay Engaged. Recruiters can be your biggest fans, but they want to know you are committed to the hiring process. Make sure you stay engaged and excited about the opportunity—communication is key! Follow up. Even if you aren't fit for a role at this time, remind them that you are always interested to hear about new opportunities. Stay on their radar and they will be able to help! CAREER CORNER
