T he TY KU portfolio—featuring superfruit- and tea-blended TY KU Liqueur, super-premium junmai ginjo TY KU Saké, ultra-premium junmai daiginjo TY KU White and the upcoming crisp, low-cal vodka competitor TY KU Soju that will launch by the end of the year—represents the perfect blend of tradi- tional Asian spirits that are perfect for mixing. The pool plaza at Miami's posh Gansevoort South, along with the hotel's outdoor bar and café, set the stage for guests to catch some rays while peeking at the toned and tanned. The sunny destination showcases one of its most popular spirits—bright, jewel-toned TY KU Liqueur, jam-packed with yuzu-provided vitamin C, mangosteen-based antioxidants, Tibetan goji berry, honeydew, green tea and ginseng—which serves as inspiration for master mixologist Jay Law, Assistant Director of Operations for The ONE Group. Drawn to the spirit's soju base, a flavor catalyst for anything it's mixed with, Law attests that TY KU Liqueur creates bal- anced cocktails with high-end flavor. "I love working with TY KU. Mixologists like to work with it for several reasons, but a main draw for them is its flavor profile. It's a great base for cocktails and lends itself to citrus and berry flavors," says Law. "For Miami, it provides the foundation for a light refreshing cocktail that is low in sugar and calories and offers a myriad of healthy ingredients. The Gansevoort's pa- trons benefit by enjoying a refreshing cocktail that also has substance." One of Law's delicious yet simple cocktails is the Asian Nectar. "The cocktail was inspired by the Asian ingredients of TY KU," says Law. "It also offers healthy vitamins and antioxidants, making it the best of both worlds for cocktail lovers." TY KU in Miami In Miami, it's stylish to sip and be seen while trying to maintain a svelte figure, so it's no surprise that the low-calorie TY KU brand has made quite a splash in the Magic City story and photos by Aurora Rodríguez
