OUTLOOK to be presented with new technology and challenges. For example, recently we have seen tremendous development in 3D technology, providing content for home and theatrical releases. Films presented in 3D give us a whole new sound dimension to work with. New theatrical formats and the forward-thinking of companies like Dolby and Iosono, among others, are providing us with new multi-channel formats. These are truly great opportunities to place sounds dis- creetly throughout the theater. “We are also seeing filmmakers willing to work in more stream- lined fashions. The editing and preparing of tracks are done in such a way that we are able to carry materials and automation from incep- tion all the way through the final dub, allowing greater flexibility, all the while remaining more engaged in the filmmaking process. The Warner Bros.’ Frankley calls this dubbing stage home. ability to provide for the picture department sound design concepts and mixed-down material gives them a solid foundation to make editorial choices before getting to the final mix. “Several filmmakers are working in diverse mediums, from fea- tures to television, 3D projects to Webisodes. Without the proper support, our creative existence is threatened.” OUTLOOK ON 2011: “I have great faith in our industry and its bright future. There are a lot of fantastic people involved, and I am proud to be a part of it.We are living in a time where the creative possibilities seem limitless. I know at the core of every project there needs to be talented people. That coupled with state-of-the-art fa- cilities will no doubt produce fascinating results.” JEFFREY EISNER Senior VP, Film & TV Business Development CSS Studios cssstudios.wordpress.com Los Angeles CSS includes Todd-AO, Sound One, Soundelux, POP Sound, Modern Music, Soundelux Design Music Group and The Holly- wood Edge.
