55 SAG-AFTRA SPECIAL ISSUE 2021 // SAGAFTRA.ORG ///// SUPPORTING MEMBERS home, saw a 20% surge of engagement this past year, with more than 140 million online views. New readers, including SAG-AFTRA members Angela Bassett, Jaime Camil and Ray Romano, took up the mantle to read stories, and a special virtual summer camp initiative proved popular with young readers worldwide. Unfortunately, the annual auction fundraisers benefiting the Foundation are canceled this year due to the pandemic. But in their place, the SAG Awards® has activated new partnerships and sponsors, which are reflected in this year's SAG Awards® nominee gift bag (see page 59). In addition to providing special gifts for award nominees and presenters, each sponsor pledged a sum to be given toward the Foundation's emergency relief efforts and programs. "I'm proud of everyone who has stepped up so that the Foundation could help thousands of our fellow members in crisis, and I'm thankful to the SAG Awards® for their long-term support, which helps us keep our vital safety net strong," said Vance. The SAG-AFTRA Foundation relies entirely on the kindness and generosity of its donors to fund all of its programs. Join the SAG Awards® in supporting our community at sagaftrafoundation.org/donate. For information about receiving assistance from the Foundation's COVID-19 Relief Fund or to make a contribution, please visit sagaftra.foundation/ disasterrelief. If you need help, ask. And if you can help, give.
