Mary Rose's 35 years as a Costume Designer enabled her to springboard into a life of passionate
service. She served as a two-term president emeritus of the CDG and for multiple terms as a gover-
nor of the Peer Group for Costume Supervisors and Costume Designers of the Television Academy.
Rose was also a curator, producer, and tireless champion of Costume Design. In addition to the chic
confections she donned for events, she wore countless professional hats. I will remember her as
petite and elegant, with sparkling eyes and smile that was both warm and mysterious.
Due to the pandemic, we have been unable to properly mourn the passing of Mary Rose,
who is survived by a daughter, son, and two grandchildren. I would like to take a moment to
celebrate her giving spirit, infectious enthusiasm, exquisite taste, and vision. Her passion was a
priceless gift to the Costume Designers Guild as a whole and each of us individually have ben-
efited from her friendship, guidance, and the countless hours spent in service to her art.
