14 ADVOCATE | FALL 2019 AEA Statement of Ownership They recently partnered with the PTA to host a community conversation with the district administration with over 200 people attending to learn about education funding. HEA organized a reverse canvass to register voters in their community and have conversations about education. The response from the community has been positive and Bowser looks forward to keeping the engagement piece going. Despite these tremendous successes, Bowser admits feeling a little scared, "It feels like we're building the plane as we're flying it. As a leader, I just want to make sure we're representing all our members. So, rather than get overwhelmed, I just say let's get to work." Continued from p. 7. n
