Due to his excessive
workload on his latest
project, location manager
Matt Palmer has resigned
from the LMGI Board after
serving a successful three-
year stint. Palmer was
responsible for including the
LMGI in the "Leadership on
Location" event with industry
partner, the Directors Guild
of Canada BC District
Council, Creative BC and the
Motion Picture Production
Industry Association of
British Columbia.
As a Regional Membership
Committee Co-chair,
Palmer was instrumental
in spreading the Guild's
message in Vancouver
resulting in the LMGI's
robust membership growth
in this region. Palmer
commits to continued
active leadership in western
Canada, including both our
business partner campaign
and membership drive.
Stepping into these well-
worn shoes, charting his
own course is Atlanta-
based LMGI member Ryan
Schaetzle, who already
serves on our Regional/
International Committee
and Membership Committee.
Schaetzle hopes to make
a positive difference,
advocating for continued
membership growth of
qualifi ed professionals in
southeastern US. He also
sees a great value in the
continuing education of our
membership, be it online
or classroom/panel events.
"The next generation,"
Schaetzle comments,"is
the future of location
management."
He adds, "I am grateful
for the opportunity to
serve on the LMGI Board.
I appreciate the strides
being made to elevate our
profession worldwide. I look
forward to working with
fellow Board members to
promote membership and
awareness of the Guild."
The LMGI is grateful to
Matt Palmer, welcoming
his continued involvement,
and Ryan Schaetzle—such
a gratifying feeling to have
such a qualifi ed member
waiting in the wings to step
up and make a commitment
to the Location Managers
Guild International. Our
thanks to you both, and
to all our hardworking
dedicated volunteers!

The landscapes of the Nahanni are
absolutely incredible. It's like nothing
I've ever seen. Truly spectacular.
