W hen I was in college, studying to be a bible teacher and working in the music ministry, I couldn't possibly expect that my true career calling would be a whole different brand of evangelizing, preaching the gospel of artisan spirits and craft mixology. But today, I've found my dream job as the Director of Mixology for Southern Wine and Spirits of Southern California, and I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of the amazing things happening in today's spirits business. This is why I'm proud to present the Artisanal Group portfolio, the most prolific, diverse and esoteric collection the spirits industry has ever seen. In this book, we offer a complete guide to everything today's craft cocktailian needs to create and maintain innovative, creative and balanced cocktail programs. While my passion lies in working directly with bartenders to educate, collaborate and communicate, with the ever-growing number of amazing mixology accounts in Southern California, we at Southern Wine and Spirits hope you'll allow this book, and the recipes and information within it, to be your guide when we can't meet up face-to-face. From the amazing Amargo Vallet, an obscure Mexican bitter liqueur, to some of the most finely-crafted whiskies in the world, the Artisanal Group portfolio is bursting with exciting products to explore. So join me on this journey through the exotic and exciting world of spirits; I can't wait to see (and taste!) the amazing drinks you'll make with them. Cheers!
