10 • THE ARTISAN SUMMER 2019 GUILD NEWS MPTF's Heartbeat of Hollywood Golf Classic and Heartbeat of Hollywood Lite The Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) held its annual fundraisers, Heartbeat of Hollywood Golf Classic and Heartbeat of Hollywood Lite, on June 3, 2019. President Julie Socash, Karen Westerfield, Polly Lucke, Patrice K. Madrigal, Randy Sayer and a host of other Local 706 nembers attended the Heartbeat of Hollywood Lite event in Sherman Oaks to benefit the Motion Picture Television Fund. This event is the 'miniature' version of the annual golf classic fundraiser held in Woodland Hills. It was a HUGE success and A LOT of fun! The Local 706 Seniors—Sue Cabral-Ebert, Tommy & Aileen Cole, Melanie Levitt—won Best Foursome, and Aileen Cole won Best Score! Best of all, we had a ball and exceeded our fundraising goal of $32,000—which allowed MPTF to purchase a much-needed 'Home Safe Home' van to allow home-safety inspections, so our senior and spe- cial-needs members may continue living in their homes. This year's Heartbeat of Hollywood events raised a record amount of funds—money that will be recycled to our members in need. Next year's event is scheduled for June 1.
