S U C C E S S I O N | P E R S P E C T I V E 9 1 In case Succession is not on your radar yet, I'll suggest—apparently without sense of modesty— it should be. True, there are any number of great shows out there, many of which are featured in this magazine in articles that both inspire and intimidate me in equal measure, but I'd argue the case that Succession is, by design or by accident, quite its own animal. Its unsettling mash-up of irreverent social parody and classic lit-inspired drama may not be everyone's thing, but it's well worth finding out if it's yours—the theme music alone is worth the effort. Designing the show presents a fair roster of challenges, which the show's departments invariably rise to—especially when it means reimagining the way episodic programming does business. The show chronicles the machinations of the shamefully rich house of Roy, as they vie for both the helm of the family media conglomerate and A. LOGAN'S APARTMENT, LOOKING FROM THE LIVING ROOM INTO THE ENTRANCE FOYER. PRODUCTION STILL.
