Starting off in the early years of the Australian film industry, he worked his way up through all sections of the Art Department, including props, set decoration, buyer and dresser, scenic hand, Art Director and Production Designer. His big break came when he was noticed by George Miller and was asked to design The Road Warrior. The show earned him an AFI Award for best design. He then went on to do two more films with Kennedy Miller; Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Dead Calm. Crocodile Dundee followed (a film in which he also played a small part as the bellboy). Then came a string of US budget films that were shot in Australia. Grace was picked up by Joel Silver to do Ghost Ship. Eventually, he would do six more films with Joel. During this time, he worked on films, TV shows and commercials around the world, including Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, Thailand and the United States, where he finally settled. His most recent work includes five seasons of The Walking Dead, Superfly and Doom Patrol. He lives in Charleston, South Carolina, with his set decorator and wife Kristen. K O R E Y M I C H A E L W A S H I N G T O N , a Culver City, California, native, has designed environments and scenery for theater, television, film and tours for the past two decades. Mr. Washington has presented his design work in over 150 venues, arenas and theaters around the country, including The Staples Center, The Kennedy Center, Los Angeles Theatre Center, The Alliance Theatre, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Madison Square Garden, Kodak Theatre and Universal Amphitheater to name a few. His current television projects include Ambitions, Power Star Live and All American. He is pleased to be the resident designer for LOL Network working closely with Kevin Hart and his new 40,000 sq ft. studio facility in Canoga Park, CA, where Straight from the Hart and Cold as Balls are shot. The most prolific and exciting production that Korey has been a part of is headed by his executive producer Tracey, his wife of 29 years and his associate producers, Clark Elizabeth, Jason Michael and Andrew Michael. C O N T R I B U T O R S E R N I E M A R J O R A M grew up in Southern California and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona, with a bachelor's degree in architecture. After fifteen years as a practicing architect, Ernie transitioned into location-based entertainment and has worked on designs for Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios and Thinkwell. He has been teaching in the Production Design discipline at the American Film Institute Conservatory for close to twenty years and has been teaching traditional drawing and storyboarding at Dodge Film School at Chapman University in Orange for the last eight years. A K I N M C K E N Z I E is a New York-based Production Designer. He attended UCLA School of Film and Television before making New York his home. His most recent work includes Paul Dano's Wildlife, Rashid Johnson's HBO film Native Son, Terence Nance's HBO series Random Acts of Flyness and Ava DuVernay's Netflix miniseries When They See Us. K A R E N S T E W A R T is an ADG member working in the film industry as an Art Director and Production Designer. Her enthusiasm and passion for sustainability issues have grown into an evolving concern for the environment, especially as it relates to the industry as a whole. Karen is a member of the ADG Women's Committee and is author of various articles on sustainability, as well as the informative green Facebook page, Film Industry Materials Exchange.
