It was a pleasure to see the Chinese industry embracing the significance of the location manager as a creative and independent feature of production design. Director Jie Liu (Courthouse on Horseback, Best Film Venice Film Festival 2006), and Jury President, celebrated director Li Yin. The festival awarded Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Animation, Cinematography, Documentary, Art Direction, Editor, Actor, Actress and Grand Jury Prize. Winners included films from the United States, Spain, Estonia, India, Korea, Vietnam, Portugal, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Poland. Maybe we can encourage them to add a Best Locations Award next year! Our goal is to double our membership with each of you inviting at least one qualified colleague to join our ranks. New members on the committee bring great energy and ideas, vetting applicants and propelling us into the next growth phase. Brad Smith, Jen Ferris, Jina Johnson, Janet McCairns, thanks for joining the team!
