LMGI Holiday Jazz: New Business Partnership Program Is Unfurled You asked … we delivered! Our new annual Business Partnership Program was formally launched at our holiday party, sponsored by The Location Portal, Reel Security, Reel Waste & Recycling, and Bear Creek Studio Rentals. Downtown Los Angeles twinkled beyond South Park Center's dramatic floor to ceiling windows, and a jazz quartet filled the room with holiday music. Location pros and vendors mingled, taking in the view and tasty hors d'oeuvres. Following a holiday raffle, Dan Dodd of IngleDodd Media explained the program. Mario Ramirez, CEO of Reel Security, also urged party attendees to get on board with the new Business Partnership program. "It's a no-brainer. There are very few opportunities we get as vendors to interact so directly with those that support our business—our target market. These partnerships replace and improve the old business memberships, making supporting the LMGI more cost-effective, bundling insider access with discounts and unique sponsorship opportunities." In lieu of business membership, we now offer a more creative, cost-effective way for vendors to connect with location professionals. We need your help. Please contact Erika Howard at admin@locationmanagers. org with contacts for your top vendors, so we can offer them the opportunity to choose their personal level of support for the LMGI, helping us promote excellence on location worldwide. Portugal's Ready to Shoot production service is the first to convert its membership to And speaking of merry—old Saint Nick was out in force at the London Location bash. Held at Forge Bar, Cornhill, in the heart of the city, close to 200 UK location workers and affiliates rang in the season. LMGI UK members Georgette Turner, Mally Chung, Tom Howard, Alex Gladstone, Graham McKenzie, Jane Soans, Harriet Lawrence and Tony Hood were joined by Canadian members John the new Business Partnership plan. Longtime supporter Tom Ybarra of Reel Waste & Recycling commented, "I'm often asked what is the secret to our success? The answer is simple, hard work and our LMGI partnership." It's commitments like this from our vendors that makes the holidays bright. "It's always difficult to get freelancers together with so many productions still filming. The LMGI is becoming an increasing popular organization here. We can't wait to see how the next year progresses."
