60 The Costume Designer Fall 2018 IN FOCUS BOLDFACE NAMES BFN - WORK premieres on CNBC on Decem- ber 5. The intense schedule had seven weeks prep for 30 epi- sodes that were shot at Universal Studios Orlando in 3 1 / 2 weeks! For Howie, she went with a be- spoke uniform look with ties de- signed by Cerchione herself. For this revamp of the original series that she designed 10 years ago, CNBC wanted to update the image of the show, so she went with a simpler, cleaner look for the ladies that even included a pant suit. "That's a pretty big 'deal' for the show!" After wrap- ping up this season's America's Got Talent (AGT) for NBC in September, where she designs for Howie Mandel and oversees the judges' wardrobe department, Cerchione has moved on to the new spinoff show AGT Champions, premiering on NBC on January 7. Also on her slate is Child Support for ABC. Cerchione designed the kids looks and Ricky Gervais in NY but was not able to do the in- studio portion as she had to move on to start Deal. Child Support is currently on the ABC Friday-night "TGIF" lineup. With a little overlap while still working on The Orville, CD Joseph Porro is designing Jon Favreau's new Star Wars series titled The Mandalorian, set to debut on Disney's upcoming streaming service. Although very little has been revealed so far, writer/executive pro- ducer Favreau has tweeted, "The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer areas of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic." We also know that a very eclectic group of directors are onboard. Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) will direct the first episode. Addi- tional directors impressively include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), and Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates). Along with Favreau, the series will be executive produced by Dave Filoni, Kath- leen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson, with co-executive producer Karen Gilchrist. Always up for a creative challenge, Porro is designing this series completely made-to-order. Assisting him on this incredible journey are CD Giovanna Melton, CD Lauren Silvestri, and ILL Gloria Kim. Howie Mandel , Deal or No Deal Looks like CD Dina Cerchione has found her niche in game shows! Over the summer, she designed Howie Mandel and the mod- els for the all new Deal or No Deal.
