Around AEA
This past June, hundreds of local leaders
and AEA site representatives participated
in a two-day conference focused on
leadership development. Participants
gained skills and knowledge in organizing,
membership recruitment and engagement,
public policy, advocacy, and bargaining.
Members also had an opportunity to
hear from AEA's statewide recommended
candidates. On the final day, members
participated in a field experience. Teams
of two gathered thousands of petition
signatures for the Invest in Education
initiative, bringing us another step closer
to restoring funding to our schools back
to 2008 levels.
