Robot faces that are just close enough to human faces to make one uneasy (nevermind the Sonny Bono wigs and moustaches), floors where two-dimensional topographical patterns merge into three- dimensional platforms, wall murals that turn out to be made up of thousands of colorful Post-It notes. As a Graphic Designer, I always enjoy the projects where I get to do something I've never done before, and season two of Legion had plenty of crazy drop-the-mic challenges, whether figuring out how to carve a submarine from foam, designing an animated paint-by-number backdrop for a Japanese garden, or creating half a dozen different 1950s-style horror comics. ADG D. SKETCHUP ILLUSTRATION BY GEOFFREY MANDEL. THE TOPOGRAPHY PATTERN WAS CREATED IN ILLUSTRATOR AND PHOTOSHOP, ALONG WITH THE STEPPED HEXAGON BORDER. IT WAS PRINTED ONTO MANY, MANY SHEETS OF MDF AND ASSEMBLED BY THE CONSTRUCTION CREW LIKE A GIANT JIGSAW PUZZLE. E.
