waiting for a redress or the need to restore any major damage to the hero driving bus. The 1980s muscle car had some unique hood elements that needed to be flushed out and custom fabricated. Fellow ADG member Michael Meyers had also worked on The Orville, so I was familiar with his vehicle and 3D set design work. Michael incorporated the look of period-accurate twin turbochargers as the main power source for the cars' hood-mounted dart guns. Cinema Vehicle Services needed the car in their shop to do all the bodywork, but we borrowed the hood for an afternoon so the Warner Bros. Staff Shop could make a cast of it. Warner Bros. was then able to use the hood mock-up to ensure a perfect fit when they fabricated the hood scoop and dart guns. All of the hood elements were also made removable to accommodate camera mounts while shooting interior car scenes. Both hero vehicles played on day three in our forty-six-day shooting schedule. Once our director, Jeremy, signed off on Shane's concept drawings, there were thirteen working days left to turn both vehicles around. For those two weeks, I would start my day at the Warner Bros. Staff Shop answering any questions and giving direction on the fabricated elements, then head over to Cinema Vehicle Services and check in on the progress of the busses and the muscle car. I was extremely relieved when I was finally able to test fit everything and the angle of the dart guns and hood scoop looked perfect in relation to the new angle of the cars' suspension. Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever. was an all hands on deck collaborative experience across multiple ADG crafts at every turn. C B A A.
