T
he celebration of the 5th Annual LMGI Awards Show
marks the 15th anniversary of the Guild. The red
carpet and after party in the courtyard of the historic
Alex Theatre was filled with jubilant location professionals
catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. This
year featured the strongest ballot ever, with each and
every project demonstrating compelling use of locations
to tell a story.
We continue to promote excellence on location worldwide
with members attending from Spain, Italy, France, Canada, the
UK, New York, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oregon and Georgia.
LMGI industry partners, the Directors Guild Canada BC and
DGC Ontario, joined with the Hollywood Teamsters Local 399
to celebrate our craft. The camaraderie shared by members
is what the night is all about. We are a global community, and
the LMGI is an invaluable tool to our profession, encouraging
dialogue across borders, transcending different unions and
diverse cultures.
Our host, writer/performer Jonah Ray, is a fixture on any
underground comedy show that's hit big this century—
