It got so bad that the installation of this set was delayed on more than one occasion. The night before the live event, there was no choice but to take the set down due to high-wind warnings. Fortunately, the winds died down the following morning and the production was saved. Had the winds continued the producers would have been forced to cut into the live telecast with a recording of the dress rehearsal of this sequence from the previous night. One set that I was genuinely excited to tackle was Higbee's department store.
