The larger ballroom will accommodate 3,360 banquet-style, 2,880 in classroom configuration, and 4,700 in theater set up. The facility also offers 82 meeting rooms, a 39,960-sq. ft. Grand Hall, a 23,400-sq. ft. Atrium overlooking the Avenue of the Arts, and 45 loading docks. When you hold a meeting, convention or trade show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, you are not just investing in a building or floor space, you are investing in an experience. The center is an award-winning, architec- tural gem that has consistently hosted successful, atten- dance-record-breaking meetings and trade shows follow- ing the completion of a major expansion in 2011. The project increased the center's capacity by nearly 60 per- cent, making it one of the largest facilities in the country. With well-appointed amenities that ensure a comfortable experience, high-tech capabilities and flexible meeting rooms, the center offers a strong focus on innovation and education for all attendees. The Center's convenient location in the heart of down- town Philadelphia means exploring the City's neighbor- hoods is as easy as putting on a comfortable pair of shoes. A floor-to-ceiling glass facade entrance on North Broad Street serves as the gateway to Philadelphia's arts and cul- ture venues on Broad Street and the City's renowned museums along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, via Lenfest Plaza. The Arch Street entrance leads to the famous Reading Terminal Market and Philadelphia's Historic District. Planners have a wide variety of accommodations from which to choose when planning an event at the Center. There are 6,109 hotel rooms within a four-minute walk of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 9,863 hotel rooms within a 10-minute walk, and 11,460 hotel rooms within a 15-minute walk. Over 12,000 hotel rooms can be found in Center City, while there are over 16,000 hotel rooms in Philadelphia County and more than 37,000 in the region. The second-largest city on the East Coast and sixth- largest in the United States, Philadelphia is within 200 miles of 46 million people. It's the cradle of liberty, a city of medical firsts and the only World Heritage City in the nation. It's home to James Beard Award-winning chefs, was named one of the most walkable cities in the nation and lies less than 2 hours from New York City and Washington, D.C. by Amtrak.
