HOT PROPERTY Renovation Innovation by Deborah Parker Wong / photos by Hardy Wilson M andarin Oriental, San Francisco has had a busy year. The recently renovated hotel celebrated its 25th anniversary as the luxury chains irst property in the United States with a complete transformation. Tranquil colors and French Dco-inspired interiors may have replaced dark wood and red accents, but there is nothing tranquil about the cuisine or beverage programs at the hotels signature restaurant, Brasserie S & P, named in part for the propertys location at Sansome and Pine Streets. Brasserie-style California cuisine created by Executive Chef Adam Mali sets the stage for an inspired wine and cocktail program that adds value to the Mandarins luxury hotel dining experience and has made the restaurant a destination for the trade as well. The wine and cocktail programs that debuted with the opening of our new restaurant, accentuate what were passionate about, says Nicole Kosta, Food and Beverage Director for the 158-room property.
