Cold River Blueberry Made in Freeport, Maine, Cold River Vodka is distilled in a handcrafted pot-distilled spirit made from locally grown potatoes, spring water and Maine blueberries. Launched in 2005, the vodkas essential purity out of the still means that it requires only minimal ltering before bottling. The crystal clear vodka has a medium-weight, lushly textured body and a brilliant bouquet. The awless nish is like the holy chorus of blueberries. Its an 80-proof homage to nature. Maine Distilleries Crater Lake Hazelnut Espresso Made in Bend, Oregon, Bendistillerys acclaimed Crater Lake Hazelnut Espresso Vodka is a small batch spirit distilled from local grain and spring water from the Cascades. The vodka is aged in oak barrels and ltered 10 times through lava and charcoal before being infused with hazelnut espresso beans and a small amount of brown sugar. The 50-proof vodka has the look and enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee with light nutty notes. Bendistillery Inc. Yazi Ginger Flavored Vodka Culinary-inspired Yazi Ginger Flavored Vodka has a palate-stimulating character tailor-made for contemporary mixed drinks. Distilled from grain and avored with four types of ginger, plus lemon, orange, cayenne and red pepper, Yazi is rendered to 35% alcohol by volume (70 proof) using glacier-fed spring water from Oregons Mt. Hood. Crystalline clarity, satin-textured body and pronounced aromatics lead to full, fresh and classy ginger, citrus and pepper avors. The lingering, warm spicy nish is its strong suit. Yazi Ginger Vodka is so much more than a beautiful bottle, states Keri Eliason, Marketing Brand Manager for Hood River Distillers. Yazi is a conversation starter. It brings newness and a sense of excitement that inspires mixologists to create fresh and innovative pairings. The vodka invites discerning, sophisticated women to discover something unique. Yazi adds an exhilarating sweet and spicy twist to a traditional cocktail, but is so smooth and easy to drink that you dont need a mixer. Hood River Distillers december 2012 / the tasting panel / 127
