The Academy Award-winning tools found in Mocha Pro, Mocha VR, Sapphire, and Continuum will feature a new Essential Interface Mode to help editors and VFX artists solve tracking and masking challenges in less time. Mocha Pro and Mocha VR will be updated in 2018 with an improved interface, new tools for ro- toscoping and mask creation, and speed improve- ments in object removal and clean plating. The company will also be offering special technology previews of the Boris FX Suite 2018 and App Manager, which bundles the company's three most popular plug-in tools — Sapphire, Continuum and Mocha Pro —on one license with cost-effective pricing and subscription options, as well as the Boris FX App Manager, a new utility that unifies licensing and application management for all Boris products. Also, the popular motion graphics and par- ticle animation system Boris FX acquired from GenArts, Particle Illusion, is being relaunched with an updated user interface, additional new emitter libraries and fast GPU speeds. Original found- er, Alan Lorence, joins the Boris FX team as the product manager. Particle Illusion will be part of Continuum 12 and the Continuum Particle Unit to be released later this year. LOS ANGELES — Xytech (xytechsystems.com) has launched Dash, a new cloud-based software built to manage the operational needs of small- er facilities. The subscription-based software takes three days to install and enables smaller video departments and post operations the ability to leverage Xytech's workflow capabilities. Further, Dash offers no-compromise security as part of Microsoft Azure Managed Cloud. "Dash offers complete facility management in the cloud in a preconfigured way for the small- er facility," explains Greg Dolan of Xytech. "This allows us to address a truly exciting and under- served market and provide an entirely new set of customers with plug-and-play facility manage- ment capabilities." The new Dash offering allows Xytech to seam- lessly manage the end-to-end business cycle for customers in the small-to-medium size range. These customers range from large universities with sophisticated media de- partments, to corporate communication departments and boutique post facilities. Xytech's monthly subscription model for Dash offers access to dashboards, graphs and charts. Customers can manage resources, handle scheduling tasks, cost forecasting, invoicing and reporting all on one system. Dash also offers the option of a built-in library management program and the option of a bidding module, en- abling users to bid on a project and have it accepted on the spot. The new Web interface allows users easy access to the Dash applications from any supported Web browser.
