he AEA Public Policy team held a training retreat for Regional Campaign
Organizers at in Phoenix and Casa Grande last month.
These 30 local association members learned about effect election campaign
planning, including communications and messaging, volunteer recruitment, how to
run a neighborhood canvass and phone bank, and building a campaign team.
The campaign organizers were tasked with creating their own campaign plan and
will work on identifying and recruiting their own team of volunteers. AEA Public
Policy staff will host additional trainings to for volunteers in the coming weeks. This
work will prepare local association in establishing the grassroots network needed for
the work to be done in the 2018 elections and beyond.
