AEA Members Take Action During the Election Across the state, AEA members got involved in contacting voters about supporting Prop 204, overrides, bonds, school board candidates, and AEA and NEA's recommended candidates. Local associations organized phone banks, can- vasses, and rallies to engage with community members about education issues and get out the vote for Election Day. Phoenix Union Classroom Teachers Association (CTA) and Classified Education Association (CEA) tirelessly hosted phone banks three days a week at AEA headquarters throughout October and finally, every weekday in November until Election Day. Glendale Union EA, Glendale Elementary EA, Dysart EA, Southern Arizona GREAT Team, and the Sunnyside EA canvassed and/or phone banked in support of Prop 204 every single Saturday in October. Scottsdale EA did phone banking every Tuesday and Thursday evening and canvassed every Saturday morning in support of Prop 204. They also performed Intersection Square Dancing every Wednesday evening until Election Day. Sahuarita EA and Dysart EA held signs sup- porting Prop 204 at major intersections once a week from October all the way through to Election Day. In addition, many locals engaged in the YES on 204 Day of Action on October 13. Some locals joined forces together to organize rallies to kick off voter contact activities. CTA, CEA, Madison CTA, Isaac EA, Cartwright EA, Creighton EA, Roosevelt EA, and Phoenix Elementary EA hosted an all-day event with voter contact activities from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. at AEA headquarters in Phoenix. The day began with a rally where volunteers heard from Yes on 204 Campaign Chair Ann-Eve Pedersen and AEA President Andrew F. Morrill. Then volunteers canvassed for Prop 204 and legisla- tive candidates. Volunteers returned for lunch and heard from Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
