Bits & Pieces Kodak issues฀new฀archival฀ilm R OCHESTER, NY — Kodak (www.kodak.com) has added another product to its portfolio of asset protection films., with the new Vision3 Digital Separation Film 2237. It's a black-and-white separation film for preserving images from color digital masters. This archival film is optimized for laser, CRT and LED light sources used by digital recorders in the mar- ketplace. The film provides exceptional image quality, including fine detail, tight grain, optimal resolution and excellent flare characteristics. Vision3 2237 film is offered on an ESTAR base for optimized physical per- formance and long-term stability that can last centuries in recommended conditions. Vision3 2237 builds upon the enhancements incor- porated in Kodak's Vision3 Color Digital Intermediate Film 2254, which is used as a digital master for generat- ing high-quality release prints with greater efficiency and image quality. The new 2237 film has improved spectral sensitivity for digital-to-film transfers and opti- mized latent image keeping, which offers efficiencies for service providers that in the past had to "cure" rolls before processing. The film can be processed in either D-96 or D-97 chemistry, which are standard black- and-white processes in the industry. Post to stream live from New A Common Thread, Therapy฀partner฀for฀Harrah's L OS ANGELES — A new spot by director Peter Dietrich of A Common Thread (www. acommonthread.tv) compares Harrah's Flamingo Casino in Las Vegas to the ultimate male fantasy. Conceived by BBDO, San Francisco, the spot centers on a man, who arrives at his girlfriend's home to meet her family. This potentially uncomfortable situation gets better when he finds her mother and sister to be drop-dead gorgeous and flirtatious. The spot's voiceover and graphics draw a parallel to the daily "deals and specials" offered by the Fla- mingo, noting a guest can, "Get more than you bargained for." The spot has a 1960s' feel. Dietrich shot the spot in a Beverly Hills home that is an exam- ple of 1960s' minimalism. Nic Sadler shot the commercial, which was edited by Kristin McCasey of Therapy Studios on an Avid Media Composer. Therapy also handled the visual effects and finishing using Autodesk Flame. 6 Post฀•฀November฀2012฀ www.postmagazine.com GEAR: "I bought a Panasonic camera with 3 CMOS sensors that records to an SD card, and I have a GoPro and all kinds of accessories. I've attached it to my dog, jet skis, helmet, ski poles. It's 32GBs, which means I can record longer than its battery life. I also do video editing with my HP Z600 and Adobe Premiere."
