With a body of work that spans more than five decades — from the stage and screen to the recording booth — Morgan Freeman remains one of the most respected and well-known figures in the industry today. But his legacy is larger than even his booming voice. Freeman's long record of philanthropic work sets him apart, which is why he's being honored with SAG-AFTRA's highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award. The award will be presented at the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Jan. 21, 2018. Freeman's long list of achievements hasn't come easy. His success and the longevity of his career are testaments to his dedication to excellence and his devotion to his dreams. "Some actors spend their entire careers waiting for the perfect role. Morgan showed us that true perfection is what a performer brings to the part," said SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. "He is innovative, fearless and completely unbound by expectations.
