A ctors understand the value of dedication and contributing their finest efforts to something larger than themselves. That's why it's important to recognize and thank the corporate partners who share those values and demonstrate their philanthropic spirit by making the SAG Awards ceremony and the official Post-Awards Gala possible. Their support benefits the SAG-AFTRA Foundation on a practical level, too, by enabling initiatives that have educated performers about the business of their craft, provided vital assistance with emergency medical costs, and served the public at large through its signature children's literacy programs, among other efforts over the past three decades. EMMA MCINT YRE/GET T Y IMAGES SAGAFTRA.org | Special Issue 2018 | SAG -AF TR A 50 PEOPLE, THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FOUNDATION AND TNT & TBS Time Inc.'s PEOPLE and the Entertainment Industry Foundation are hosting the official Post-Awards Gala for the 22nd year in a row, joined for the first time by TNT & TBS. The Gala honors the charitable efforts of actors in their communities and caps off the sponsors' annual donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. This philanthropic practice helped make possible the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's Actors Center in New York, as well as other initiatives. CHAMPAGNE TAITTINGER The famous SAG Awards red carpet will officially open with a toast of Champagne Taittinger, as it has every year since 2001. The family- owned Champagne House will also complement the Gala with bottles of their prized Champagne Taittinger Brut La Française, produced in Reims. Additionally, actors entering the SAG Awards showroom will be asked to sign a Methuselah Champagne Bottle. Champagne Taittinger will acknowledge each signature with an additional contribution to the Foundation's critical Emergency Assistance program, which supports actors and their families in times of urgent need.
