Fall 2017 The Costume Designer 49 Lena Lollis Lena Lollis is a San Diego native and has been illustrating her whole life. In the past five years, that creativity has focused entirely on costume illustration in Los Angeles. Lollis attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and graduated with degrees in fashion design and Costume Design for television and film. She has worked in all areas of the costume department, but began her career creating custom fashion and costume pieces for a variety of clients. Most recently, she joined the Costume Designers Guild in late 2016 and has enjoyed becoming part of an amaz- ing and professional group of illustrators and designers. While perpetually striving to become a better artist, she is also a proud dog owner, enjoys long hikes, and eating any Japanese food within reach. Born in Westchester, New York, Greg Hopwood always had a passion for comic books and drawing costumes. He credits the X-Men films and movies like Hocus Pocus for having fos- tered this love. Hopwood attended the Rhode Island School of Design but jumped straight into fashion industry. He found his two-year stint unfulfilling, so he decided to pursue film. A job opportunity provided by the Cooney family proved fortuitous when Hopwood helped move some boxes for a production. The kind gesture turned into over a year of work on the last two films of The Hunger Games franchise. The designers quickly noticed his talent for costume illustration, and as they say, the rest is history. Although his heart lies in superhero and sci-fi productions, Hopwood finds working on period and contemporary films incredibly rewarding. Greg Hopwood
