Back-to-School 2017 | wyoea.org 6 Darlene Erickson Northeast Region Representative Carol Sutherland Business Manager Ken Decaria Government Relations Director Annie Gripp Northeast Region President Melissa Harris Central Region Representative New Board Members Retiring Staff Members WEA bids farewell to Ken Decaria, who took early retirement as of August 31st. Ken, formerly a longtime teacher and legislator from Evanston, joined the WEA staff as Government Relations Director in 2009. WEA appreciates Ken's unrelenting efforts on behalf of education employees and the students and families they serve! Ken anticipates enjoying warm days and sunny golf courses in Arizona for at least part of each year, but we can be assured he will return to Wyoming regularly to see his many family members and friends. "Oh, just one more thing…"—do try to take some time to relax, Ken! WEA's Business Office will never be the same in the absence of manager-extraordinaire Carol Sutherland. After all, she has been the backbone of the business side of WEA operations since 1994; that's a lot of knowledge and history to have to replace! While Carol had planned to take early retirement on August 31st, she kindly agreed to continue part-time for a couple of months in order to help create a smooth transition. A woman of many interests, Carol hopes to make a dent in her craft supplies, play some music, and travel the countryside, capturing breathtaking photos. Happy retirement, Carol!
