9 Rachel Gibson Lingle-Ft. Laramie Elementary Goshen County Education Assoc. Great ings Happen Everyday WEA Member Publishes Her First Literary Fiction Rachel Gibson, Goshen County Education Association member and Lingle-Ft. Laramie Elementary School teacher, published her book, Highland Peace, well after she began writing it seven years ago while studying education at the University of Wyoming. "I used it as an example in the writing class I teach, and one student said, 'Why don't you just finish it?'" Gibson admitted that she was nervous about rejection, so finishing the book had not been a priority; that student finally gave her the nudge she needed. Rachel researched different publishing houses, but decided to publish it all herself using the Website, www.createspace.com. Her book is 100% written by her, and her father and husband collaborated to design the cover. "I love reading, and always loved historical romances," Rachel said about the idea behind Highland Peace. She also always wanted to go Scotland. "It's been a dream, so I had to research both historical and modern-day places and events to make my fiction piece; it was a tremendous learning experience." Rachel's book is available at the www.createspace.com store, as well as for Amazon Kindle download. An excerpt from Highland Peace: "Death cannot vanquish love, but love can vanquish the ghosts of death." Alyssa Reynolds had always dreamed of visiting the highlands of Scotland, now it was only a nightmare away... For her only chance of surviving the pain of a deadly car accident is to escape the memories and guilt that haunts her. But tragedy and death have followed her halfway around the world to Glen Orchy, Scotland, home of Kilchurn Castle Equestrian Stables. Can the alluring and provoking Liam MacGregor dig up the truth about her past? Highland Peace Rachel Leone Gibson Published: July 29, 2017
