Soccer Skills
In 2011, over 600 Special Olympics athletes from schools all over New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties convened for the annual fall Soccer Skills competitions. The University of Delaware hosted athletes from New Castle Co. schools, while Ennis School hosted Sussex County schools. Stokes Elementary was the host site for Kent County. The events featured competitions in Individual, Modified and Advanced Skills, as well as demonstrations by Young Athletes (under 8 yrs. old) and athletes participating in the Motor Activities Training Program (MATP). We thank all our numerous Project UNIFY high school volunteers throughout the state, as well as our dedicated volunteers from Citi, the UD Athletic Trainers Club, Blue Hen Athletes and the Athletic Department of the University of Delaware (New Castle Co.) and DelTech students (Sussex Co.).
