Clean and fresh, with use of neutral barrel oak aging and stirring on the lees for a magnificent creaminess. It's an aromatic treat of pineapple cream, with a strike of lemon drop on mid palate and a multiplex finish that includes chamomile, white grapefruit and orange blossoms. San Simeon 2016 Sauvignon Blanc received a 93 score from The Tasting Panel. San Simeon 2013 Stormwatch, Paso Robles (SRP $70) This is the Riboli Family's best barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon, mainly from the Pretty Penny Vineyard in Paso's El Pomar District. It shows off its concentrated black fruit— ripe and weighty on the tongue. This wine has great aging potential. San Simeon 2013 Stormwatch earned a 98 point score from The Tasting Panel. Maddalena 2015 Zinfandel, Paso Robles (SRP $25) This wine took home a Double Gold from and was crowned Best Zinfandel at the WSWA Wine Competition this year (see results section, page 102). Aged in a blend of new and used American and French oak barrels, it greets the palate with layers of red fruit, mainly raspberry and black plum, along with hints of cocoa and oak spice. The silky texture and soft tannins leave you wanting one more sip. Some of the wine judges from The Tasting Panel's Blind Wine Competition celebrated the Centennial with Anthony Riboli. Anthony Riboli pouring the award-winning Opaque Zinfandel from Paso Robles. San Antonio Winery's 2014 "100th Anniversary" Centennial Blend from Paso Robles is a non- traditional blend of Bordeaux and Rhône grapes. Dry, grainy tannins set off dusty tones of violet and black fruit skin. With its 95-point score from The Tasting Panel, it is truly a tribute to wine royalty that marks a century for the Riboli family's San Antonio Winery.
