PATRONS | Spring 2017 33 IN YOUR COMMUNITY On Sunday, September 18 Young Physicians and Professionals Alliance board members and their spouses Alex Shen, MD, (and Ally) and Song Klein (and Dave) hosted a YPPA recruitment fiesta at the picturesque Portuguese Bend Beach Club. The focus was to introduce Torrance Memorial Medical Center's network of pediatricians and OB/ GYNs to South Bay young professionals and families. After margaritas, ceviche, tacos and s'mores, Beth Lowerison, RN, Mother/Baby, updat- ed attendees about renovations to Torrance Memorial's North Tower. Alice Diego-Malit, MD, and Deepjot Singh, MD, introduced the pediatri- cians and OB/GYNs in attendance. A new Maternal/Child Postpartum Unit opened this past fall. Once completed, the revamped North Wing will also feature Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. YPPA Hosts Summer Beach Fiesta YPPA gathered for its Survivor-themed fall mixer event at Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach. Members enjoyed a casual evening of games and networking along with cocktails and dinner.
