PATRONS | Spring 2017 29 IN YOUR COMMUNITY Torrance Memorial Hospice hosted its 21st annual "Light Up a Life" event Sunday, November 13, in honor of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. The tree lighting and fundraiser provide an opportunity to celebrate, reminisce and honor a loved one's life. The event included a performance by the Los Cancioneros Master Chorale and music by members of the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School Symphonic Orchestra. Funds raised support Torrance Memorial's Hospice programs and assist those who cannot afford hospice care. "Light Up A Life" Honors Lost Loved Ones Local families had special access to the man in the red suit at the Holiday Festival Lunch with Santa. The annual event was sponsored by The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation and hosted by the Luminaries and Novas—parent/child support organizations for Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Attendees participated in a plethora of activities, including face painting, crafts, and photos with Santa. Each guest received admis- sion to the Holiday Festival tent, where festivities continued and attendees could view the 36 themed trees on display, while sampling holiday treats.
