S AG-AFTRA has taken the wraps off of a new app that will help active members engage with their union, stay informed about all the latest goings-on and keep tabs on their residuals. The easy-to- use app was officially launched for Android smartphones and iPhones on Feb. 14, and is available for download from the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. been hard at work creating and extensively testing the app to make sure that the finished product is intuitive and responsive to member needs. Once members log into the secure app, it displays a virtual membership card that contains the same information as the real thing. With a touch, users can flip the card for info on the reverse side. The app has several useful functions … "This application is perfect for the busy SAG-AFTRA member. For the first time, members can track their residuals and update their information on the go," said SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. While on the drawing board for some time, the implementation of the app began with the late President Ken Howard, who wanted members to have information about their union at their fingertips.
