payments. SAG-AFTRA's evolution
from paper checks to direct deposit
for members will be an industry
milestone that will go down in the
union's history as a monumental
accomplishment.
The act of delivering payments
through direct deposit has been
a payment-processing norm for
years. But in entertainment,
paper has been king since the
dawn of Hollywood —
especially when it comes
to residuals. While
conversations
about direct
deposit for
residuals
have been
ongoing in the
industry since the 1990s, it wasn't
until recently that there was a breakthrough.
