LIVEMAGS.NET MARCH>>10 37 Bertell's experienced many changes in his life, moving among different schools in Houston, TX and Louisiana. Extremely gifted in basketball, Bertell received many scholarships, and it was then that he discovered his love for creating music. Not everything was fairy tale or picture perfect, with many of his pursuits falling through both in basketball, such as his trip to New Jersey, and in music, such as his trip to Atlanta to record. None of this held Bertell back as he continued working on his musical dreams, eventually being financed by Joel Staib, an executive at the Houston- based energy company Dynegy. This still didn't pan out exactly as planned, but led to Bertell's discovery by Bryan-Michael Cox. Bertell's album is due out in the beginning of May and features hit songs like "She Bad" and "Beat it Up." Bertell's music is similar to current popular R&B like Sean Kingston with a little bit of Kanye thrown into the blend. Bertell's music is catchy and full of innuendos and unlikely scenarios. His writing is original and his vocals display a large range.
