Sound Library News FirstCom Music's BBC Production Music adds three new releases D ALLAS — FirstCom's newest library, BBC Produc- tion Music, was officially launched earlier this year during NAB. This collection of music contains original works from world-renowned composers such as Paul Englishby, Ty Unwin, Miguel D'Oliveira, and many oth- ers. The library also includes music from a plethora of BBC dramas and documentaries. The next album, Ancient Empires by composer Ty Unwin, delves into lost cities, forgotten lands, ancient rituals, and battles that shaped our world. "Majestic, ethereal, terrifying and echoing with intrigue and suspense, this album captures the essence of times long lost." Unwin specializes in writing music for media. He has also worked with commercial artists, including Roger Daltrey and Alice Cooper. Finally, "music to con- vey the passion and gran- deur of world explora- tion" can be found in Cultured Traveller. Com- poser Miguel D'Oliveira masterfully creates "a world of new discoveries, FirstCom Music (www.firstcom.com) has also released three new and diverse albums within the BBC library. Paul Englishby, BBC composer, brings "chilling textures to intensely dark and dramatic orchestral works" in Serial Killer. The album was created for psy- chological thrillers, crime dramas, horror and investiga- tion productions. His film and television scores include the Oscar-nominated An Education, Magicians, and the popular BBC series Luther. new places, culture, food and lifestyle." The collection includes compositions from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. Works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Debussy are all features in the two-album set.
